TASIS Comm Group Communications Trailer
TASIS - TACTICAL AND STRATEGIC INTERCOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS

The TASIS Comm group supplies tactical and strategic response for communication needs in the Central New York Region. We have a pool of Training Resources, Communication Resources, and Human Resources to develop and maintain an extensive quick response communications network.

The systems can be deployed as stand alone units or part of a network of units for coordination of multi-site situations.

COMPUTER RESOURCES:

All computers used in the TASIS Comm Group computer system and network are Panasonic CF-25 ToughBooks. They are all equipped with both AC and DC adapters, allowing use on either 110vac or 12vdc sources. They are all equipped with word processing and database software applicable to emergency incidents and events. They all have 802.11b wireless capability and through that mode, intra-system messaging. The emergency command software is networked so all units may monitor all resources used in the incident. Currently, sixteen computers are deployed throughout the system. There are three non-dedicated spares for emergency replacements or further deployment as needed. The main Command Computer is a Panasonic CF-71 computer.

MOBILE COMMAND TRAILER:

This unit is the core trailer for single and multi-site incidents. It is equipped with a planning area for the Incident Commander and staff. It also provides communications with two communications positions with the appropriate radio and computer gear for the incident or event. It is meant to serve three or four planners and two communicators. This trailer also has the tools and equipment necessary to repair or construct antennas, cables, connectors, and other field resources to support communications. An extensive inventory of first aid supplies is also maintained. The COMMAND TRAILER can run under the 800 amp-hour 12vdc battery system, the 110 volt 2500 watt generator, or any 20 amp 110 volt ac connection. The trailer batteries are charged using any 110 vac source or through the trailer connection to the towing vehicle. The unit has heaters and fans for environmental conditioning. This trailer also serves as the storage and transport trailer for our individually deployable equipment described separately later in this document.
