Information Required for Membership. TASIS - TAKE A STAND IN SOCIETY TASIS.ORG provides a diverse set of skills and talents for and to our communities. Do you wish to join us?? What do you need to join us??  You must have a sincere and long standing interest in Emergency Service to our communities. As all Emergency Response requires a variety of skills and abilities, we are looking not only for communicators, but individuals that can fill a variety of support positions to the communication mission.  You must apply for membership and be voted into the Group. Please complete the Membership Application Attached. Dues are paid by check to TASIS…do NOT submit dues with the application. You will get a dues notice when voted into membership.  Upon being voted to membership, you must pay the required dues. The fiscal year is April 1 to March 31. No partial or prorated dues are accepted.  Within one (1) year of attaining membership, you must complete ARRL EmComm Level One Training and become Certified by passing the Level One Examination. We provide the training and exam sessions; you must pay the exam fee.  You must establish an identity on yahoo.com and have a yahoo.com e-mail address. We prefer that you use your ham call or assigned identification, such as kc2nys@yahoo.com. Our Internet communications system is designed around yahoo e-mail and its ability to send alerts and notifications.  Upon being voted into membership, please log on to the Yahoo group site and request membership to the site. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tasis/  You must download and have Yahoo Instant Messenger available to you. Create a Group in IM of TASIS CG and then poll other members to join. You will be able to identify other members at the TASIS Comm Group Yahoo site. Using Yahoo IM allows you to see the current status of other members.
